Braais
and Potjieskos Days
MountainView
has fellowhip with several other like-minded churches in the Johannesburg
area. Sometimes this involves braais, inter-church potjieskos challenges,
volleyball matches, golf outings, or LAN parties. Our men are heavily
involved in these events.
Church
Ministries Institute (CMI)
Church
Ministries Institute, or CMI, is a programme for church-based leadership
development. It has been used by a number of churches over the years
to equip Sunday school teachers, deacons, elders, pastors and church-planters.
The programme is for believers in participating churches, and involves
undergoing a number of years of personal discipleship and hands-on
internships combined with academic coursework.
In
1998, CMI of Gauteng became a licensed educational institution to
offer Bachelors and Honours degrees in Theology through a cooperative
programme with North-West University's campus in Potchefstroom.
MountainView is part of a cooperative network of churches providing
classes in Bible and theology. For more information, contact Brent
on 084-785-1330 or Dave on 084-580-5647.
Sunday
Mornings
We meet every Sunday morning at 10 a.m. for music, praise and prayer
time, and a message from God's Word. We begin with the whole family
together, but during the message, children up to age 10 have "children's
church." After our time together, we enjoy tea, coffee and
cool drink together outside.
At
this time, we have no Sunday evening service. Our families are encouraged
to spend time with each other, with extended family, and with unbelieving
friends and neighbors.
